Did you know – red patches, itching, stinging, tightness, blemishes or dryness within specific areas of your face are all commons signs of sensitive skin?
Identifying sensitive skin is quite straightforward but recognising the causes can be a little confusing.
What causes sensitive skin?
In order to keep irritants outside of the body, the skin forms a natural barrier – it does so by maintaining a good level of moisture. As skin is exposed to a number of drying factors throughout the day, including winter weather, sun exposure, air conditioning and more, the barrier can easily weaken.
When the barrier is weakened, irritants can penetrate through the skin, which alerts your nerve endings and causes an unusual reaction – as a result of these reactions, skin can become blotchy, patchy, tight and is more prone to blemishes.
Another factor which often contributes towards sensitive skin is hormones, which are delivered to the skin by tiny blood vessels. A dramatic alteration in hormones (most commonly through stress and during periods or pregnancy) can cause a similar skin reaction.
How to treat sensitive skin?
Harsh chemicals must be avoided – this includes abrasive skincare products with strong fragrances.
The new Super Facialist Pure range is fragrance-free and utilises bioactive milk-based nutrients to provide skin with probiotic nutrition.
By harnessing the power of probiotics and botanicals, the collection helps to restore the skin’s balance, while thoroughly cleansing and hydrating. This helps to lock-in essential moisture and makes the skin’s barrier less susceptible to weakening.
A combination of Aloe Vera, Arnica and Coconut Water ensures that skin is hydrated and soothed.
Shea Butter, Arnica and Aloe Vera combine with peptide advanced technology and a bioactive milk base to help soothe and comfort skin.
