What to pack for your summer holiday

Super Facialist - what to pack for your summer holiday

School is officially out for summer, which means it’s perfectly acceptable to start packing for your summer holiday… even if it is a month away.

If you’re struggling to think of the essentials needed to see you through from a morning by the pool to an afternoon stroll around the city (followed by an evening of à la carte dining) we’ve got you covered.

In this blog, we’ll share a handful of the essentials you’ll need to include in your suitcase.

Spoiler: our brand-new Vitamin C skincare minis (also available as a complete collection) will be making a guest appearance.

Pack an SPF

And factor 15 doesn’t cover it.

A sun cream with SPF50 will keep you and your friends/family protected – just remember to apply it regularly throughout the day for consistent protection.

You’ll still gain the benefits of the sun (aka. a bronzed tan) without any of the negative consequences, aka. a bright pink chest and awkward ‘tan’ lines that never fade away.

Don’t forget your favourite skincare products

You knew this one was coming sooner rather than later – the key to keeping skin healthy whilst away is to ensure it is consistently hydrated. This is because over sun exposure can strip the skin of its natural oils, so while a good SPF can help protect the complexion, it’s still important to apply a hydrating moisturiser to maintain moisture levels.

The good news is, we’ve just launched new travel-sized versions of four of our best-selling Vitamin C products, so you can take your go-to skincare routine away without needing to worry about bulky packaging.

To purchase our miniature Vitamin C Cleansing Oil, Micro Polish Wash, Daily Moisturiser, or Night Cream today, just head to the chosen product page on our website and select the smallest ml fill from the dropdown menu.

Pick the right sunglasses

You wouldn’t forget to protect your skin against the sun (especially after reading point one) so why would you neglect your eyes…

Eye health needs to be taken seriously, as the eyes are extremely susceptible to UV damage, so it’s extremely important to keep them protected when you’re out and about – even if you’re sitting by the poolside.

Our advice? Put your affordable sunglasses in the cupboard, set some money aside to get a new pair and check for a high UV protection sticker on the lenses – you’ll thank us for it later.

Take a good book

If you’ve had a book set aside (or ready to go on your kindle) for months and haven’t had the chance to flick past page one, this is your perfect opportunity.

Head straight to the poolside early in the morning, find yourself the best sun lounger and appreciate the peace of reading without having to worry about daily chores, how many emails are starting to clutter your work inbox, or how much time you’re going to have to spend in the gym after your break to counteract the all you can eat buffet.

Choose comfortable and stylish swimwear

Whether you’re a fan of the classic swimsuit or feel a little braver and will be reaching for a bikini, it’s important to make sure that whatever you choose will not only look stylish, but also make you feel comfortable and confident.

There’s no need to go overboard and pack 10 options but setting up to 5 choices aside will not only help you avoid putting on a soggy bikini, it’ll also help you feel like a ‘new woman’ every day.

But don’t forget – take something (e.g. a sarong) down with you to cover up when the sun is at its peak in order to protect your body from the most intense rays of the day.

Think we’ve left an essential off our checklist?
